Client Testimonials
Getting performed a couple thousand square feet of drywall finishing the old fashioned way (coughing up dust as I sanded), I was hoping for a thing affordable that would possibly take half of the dust out of the air. I was pleasantly surprised to obtain that the Dust Dog does a lot a lot more, sucking away almost all of the dust designed from sanding. No longer will I emerge from the perform location searching like a ghost.
The unit is very simple, and the female connection for the pole is sturdy. Some minor drawbacks: though not made of cast iron or something, the unit is heavier than a plain sanding block, and you also have to dangle the vacuum hose around with you, so you will tire quicker when sanding, specially on greater walls and ceilings. Also, the "suction control valve" does not have a tremendous amount of adjustability, but I did not notice that sanding was any harder due to the block sticking to the sanding surface. Lastly, since the vacuum hose dangles off of the bottom of the universal joint, you can't rotate the sanding block about as easily or in as a number of positions as a plain pole sander. On a positive note, grasping the unit at the universal joint is a reasonably comfortable grip to do close-up hand-sanding as an alternative of applying the pole.
That becoming mentioned, I'm pleased with an affordable indicates of dustless drywall sanding. I have mine hooked up to a run-of-the-mill Ridgid store vac devoid of any special filter, and even though I do will need to shake the filter out comparatively frequently, it does just fine keeping the dust in the vacuum.
This pole sander functions particularly fine, and captures almost all of the dust. My initially expertise was sanding 800 square feet, and I had a barely visible amount of dust on my arms. I also have the Porter Cable 7800, and it most certainly is not practically as excellent at capturing the dust as this pole sander. I was just using a compact 6 gallon Shop Vac QSP with cleanstream filter. The addition of drywall bags in the shop vac will help maintain the suction higher. I hugely advocate this pole sander and will by no means use a typical pole sander once more.
